A team leader who is good at motivating his or her followers possesses several skills and qualities. Team leaders might develop their leadership abilities through formal education and practical experience, or they can be born with traits like compassion and honesty. By boosting team productivity, a good leader can boost morale on the team and help the department's expansion.

In order to effectively manage an organization's resources and achieve its goals, leadership is a crucial management role. Influential leaders are experts at inspiring and directing their team members to achieve a positive social effect. No matter what position you hold, knowing about the value of leadership can help you make a meaningful contribution to the objectives of your organization.

Why is organizational leadership important?

According to Moe, (2021), organizational leadership is important because:

1.  Motivates Team Members. Team members reciprocate the leader's actions. They will be inspired to adopt a growth mentality for both themselves and their teams, and they'll be thinking about how they can personally contribute to the organization's forward motion.

2.  Allows for a problem-solving and decision-making mindset. Great ideas can arise in a psychologically secure environment where people are not frightened to speak up. Exponential development is feasible when a leader gives the people hired into their roles the freedom to create solutions and make choices.

3.     Promotes communication, ethics, inclusion and respect. Every employee's contributions are valued since they are essential to the organization's progress overall, the highly emotionally intelligent organizational leader says. The leader upholds the principles of the company and exemplifies the respect, inclusion, and communication that is expected of every person.

4.     Allows organizational leaders to remain goal-oriented. When people are given the freedom to carry out their responsibilities and come up with creative solutions, the organizational leader can concentrate on the bigger picture: advancing the purpose while keeping an eye on the obstacles that lie ahead.

Importance of organizational leadership

The organizational leader may focus on the wider picture: promoting the purpose while keeping an eye on the challenges that lie ahead when employees are free to carry out their roles and come up with innovative solutions.

Even if you don't have a professional leadership role, you will encounter situations in life where you must exercise your leadership skills to benefit those around you (Kaur, 2021).

Conclusion

In conclusion, leadership is defined as the process of directing the actions of others toward the achievement of a goal while leading, teaching, motivating, and inspiring them. It involves the capacity to sway people. Within the organization, leadership frequently entails assuming a position due to unique aptitudes, skills, or qualities. It may be formal or informal.
